Chelsea Cellar was born and raised in Powell, Ohio. She graduated from Muskingum University with a degree in Art Education in 2010, and moved to Utah to see what new opportunities might be out here in 2011. That school year she was lucky enough to be hired at Dixon Middle School in Provo, Utah, as an art teacher, and is now in her 10th year teaching at Dixon. As a bisexual person, married to a transgender spouse in 2015, she has experienced first-hand the need for LGBTQ+ inclusion and acceptance in the community and schools, and has worked toward spreading awareness of that need for several years. One of the most important parts of that work was helping to launch and subsequently lead Provo School District's LGBTQ+ Equity and Advisory Committee, which recently led the district to adopt a clarification in their gender acceptance policy. Currently she lives in Orem with her spouse and two cats.
