Modeling Healthy Queer, Trans, & Gender-Nonconforming Relationships

A talk by Jess Burnham (They/Them, She/Her)
Prevention Program Manager, YWCA

I will be presenting portions of my master's research based on 15 in-depth interviews with partnered queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming individuals across the U.S. to document varied approaches to intimacy. My objective is to expand our understandings of what relationship forms and practices are possible and valid. Those invited to participate include LGBTQIA+ and ally students, teachers, caregivers, and community members. My hope is that we will collectively account for and support varied approaches to intimacy, including non-monogamy, non-sexual relationships, non-reproductive relationships, those that choose not to enter the institution of marriage, and many other safe, healthy, and consensual practices.
