QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just like CPR trains citizens to intervene in a medical emergency, QPR trains citizens to intervene in a mental health emergency. QPR Gatekeeper Training for Suicide Prevention is listed in the National Registry of Evidence-based Practices and Policies and is one of the most widely taught forms of suicide prevention training. All instructors of this training are certified through the QPR Institute. As a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to: Recognize the warning signs of suicide Know how to offer hope Know how to get help and save a life QPR Suicide Prevention Training is designed for all people. The more people who are trained in QPR the more lives that can be saved. QPR training is especially important for educators who come in contact with many students on a daily basis. Upon completion of this training, you will have a better understanding of the topic of suicide (and its prevalence in the LGBTQ+ community), gain confidence in having conversations related to suicide, and learn about referral resources.
